About SMART START PUPPY
In this class, we will focus on the 20 steps for success set forth by the AKC, and we will teach you how to best communicate with your puppy.
You’ll get information on all of your puppy-raising questions, including house-training and chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills, such as coming when called. We will help you build optimism and resilience in your puppy.

We believe training should be fun—for both dogs and their humans! Our games-based training approach uses engaging, structured play to teach essential skills, improve focus, and build a strong bond between you and your dog.

About AKC STAR PUPPY
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. It will help you properly socialize your puppy while teaching them basic manners. We will introduce you to all the different dog sports and activities you and your family can do with your new puppy! At the end of the training course, the instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead into the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program. Upon passing, owners and their puppies will be enrolled in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program and will receive an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy package, which includes:

Upon passing the evaluation puppies will also receive their first AKC title and will be able to add the S.T.A.R. designation to the puppy's registered name if applicable. This class is open to dogs under 1 year who are not reactive to people or other dogs.

About AKC Canine Good Citizen Class
We used our same games based positive approach training methods for our AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class. It focuses on teaching dogs essential skills for everyday life, fostering good manners, obedience, and social confidence. Through positive training methods, dogs can learn key behaviors such as sitting politely for greetings, loose-leash walking, controlled reactions to distractions, and comfortable interactions with other dogs and people. At the conclusion of the course, dogs and their handlers are evaluated on ten core CGC skills, earning official AKC recognition that highlights their commitment to responsible pet ownership and well-mannered companionship. This class is open to dogs of all ages who are not reactive to people or other dogs.
